How To Be Exempted For NYSC
NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) can only exempt a graduate from service due to three (3) reasons;

- If the graduate has served in the armed forces of the federation or the Nigerian police force for a period of more than nine months
- if the graduate is disabled or if the graduate have a health issue or challenges.

Can 31 Years Old Go For NYSC
No, 31 years old graduate can not go for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) because s(he) has exceeded the age of 30 as at the time of graduation. Once a graduate is above 30 years of age as at the time of graduation s(he) will be given exemption certificate which is equivalent to discharge certificate, that is given to those that went for National Youth Service for one year (12 months).

First they calculate your date of birth right from the they an individual is been given birth to, to the the day, that very individual graduated. NOTE: The date of graduation is not the day you finished your exam or the day you did your project defense. The date of graduation is the date your school approved your result, that is the real date of graduation.
Due to this issue some individual or graduate has goon into Age falsification, which is not right, in other for them to be eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), there by reducing their age during JAMB Registration or during JAMB regularization.
Can I Travel Out During NYSC
Yes you can travel out during your service year but you must write a letter through your local government inspector (LGI), Through the state coordinator to the director general (DG). You must have a concrete reason for your traveling before your letter will be approved and the traveling should not be more than two to three weeks.
Can I Travel Abroad For My Masters (Master Degree) While Am Still Serving
No, a graduate can not travel abroad during the service year. You can only go for your masters after you have successfully completed your National Youth Service or before going for National Youth Service.
If a graduate insist on going for the masters abroad, s(he) can go, but must surely come back and start NYSC all over again.
NOTE: If the graduate/corps member have received any salary (Alawee) before, the corps member have to refund all the money to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) management. (By paying to a particular bank account “which will be given by the authority” with a proof of payment.
Can I Pause My NYSC
No, a Corps member can not pause the National Youth Service unless the Corper want to start all over again. There no law that approves pausing of NYSC.
